My condensation of observations, and ideas from music
Why does music impact us humans so deeply? I think it's because the parts of music resemble the human experience:
- The unique combination of otherwise generic notes, forming a melody, give a song its individuality
- The relationship of other notes to the melody, forming harmony, give a song its beauty (or ugliness, or happiness, etc.)
- The time overwhich it's all shared, forming a rythm / tempo, give a song its irrevocable preciousness
